Sitting too long!

Sitting too long!

“Are you green and growing or ripe and rotting?”
― Ray Kroc

green apples

Stagnation will cause you to rot when you were once ripe and flourishing

Life can sometimes be just like the images you see when you don’t take the time to take what’s  inside and bring it to the outside to give it the opportunity to thrive. Stop sitting and waiting for someone to come pick you up out of a basket, and create your own basket. Nothing comes to a person who sits but a stench and a rotten core.

Replace your existence with persistence and watch how your stench becomes a scent that is a pleasing aroma to you and to those around you!

Say it with me: I commit to dismiss every urge to just exist!

As I wrote this years ago I decided to reevaluate some of the words. Did I see a change? Am I just still sitting and rotting or using my fruit to allow more seeds to grow?

GET UP!

Do or Doubt?

Do or Doubt?

“The moment you doubt whether you can fly, you cease for ever to be able to do it.”
J.M. Barrie, Peter Pan

My ability to do comes from my ability to imagine.  If we spend less time thinking we can’t just imagine how much we could if we just act on our imagination.  My ability to create comes in those moments when I think I can’t. In those moments of thinking you can’t you have two choices; either do it or don’t! If you don’t you live in regrets and when you do you live in the rewards of something you’ve accomplished.

Doubt is such a strong source of power in most of our lives because we look at things from this perspective either I win or I lose. I look at it from this perspective either I win or I learn and I keep it moving.

DO or DOUBT it’s your choice but do yourself a favor and stop doubting the ones that “DO!”

Today’s Journey

Today’s Journey

“It’s the journey, not the destination, but that doesn’t make sense until you get there.”
J.R. Rim

I was looking for a deal and a quick return on investment but that is not what I got. As I got into the car full of people we were all heading to the same place. As we arrived we all got out to look around to get what we came for. One of the people with me got put out of the establishment as soon as we got there because of their attitude and tongue but I just shrugged it off and kept going as they walked away. I was determined to find what I came for. I still had a few people with me but as the journey progressed on the circle got smaller and smaller.

As I was travelling along the path I ran into so many things that looked good until I got up close to them. That is when I realized that things are not what they always seem to be. As I begin to try to find my way back to where I started I saw so much stuff I should have never seen. I put myself into places that I had no business being in that I had to duck, dodge and crawl at times to make it back to a stable place. I got scratched, cut and my clothes were tattered because I had to maneuver through places that I didn’t belong.

dark-and-dangerous

Those who I had started with were no longer with me so I had to try to find my way back to the door by myself. It was dark and I was in an unfamiliar place and I sought out people for advice.  They kept leading me in the wrong direction because they didn’t know where I needed to be or better yet where I was trying to go. In the process my eyes continue to see things I had no business seeing. I went in looking for something but it is not what I thought it was. I wanted OUT!

doors

When I finally saw a door it said that only certain people could exit through it so I had to keep moving. I saw many doors but none were accessible for me. When I got to the last path it was as if I could hear the outside but I still couldn’t see it and discouragement starting creeping in. Wearily I kept pushing trying to find my way out but I didn’t give up. I made it to another room that had a door but this room was also filled with lewd acts but I knew it wasn’t my destination so I was able to maneuver around to keep pushing. Once I left that room there was a door standing wide open for me and when I step through it was raining outside. Out of all that I have been taught I lifted my hands and received the rain as it washed off the dirt from the ordeal I had just come through….. I had finally reached my destination but I had to endure the journey first!!!

Moral:

  1. You can’t do whatever else do
  2. You can’t go where everyone else goes
  3. If you stay the course your harvest will be waiting
  4. Follow the cloud and not the crowd

Your words…..

Your words…..

“Among my most prized possessions are words that I have never spoken.”
― Orson Scott Card

silent-actions

So many words are hidden inside because often she saw more than she cared to share. So many  words left unspoken because she heard things she shouldn’t have heard but did not think anyone would believe her. Like a pop that has been dropped or shaken one too many times her mind was ready to explode! Look at her eyes they are speaking for her but yet no one hears her hidden words. Look at her body language that was once strong and poise it is now weak and broken!

unspoken

Lost in her own thoughts! Starring off into the zone that she has created where no one can pull her back but the voice inside of head. She’s silently calling for your help! Can you help her? Can you see her? Did you just hear the whisper of her heart? It is crying out “SAVE ME” but no one came close enough to hear it! The beats of her heart begins to slow down because she thinks no one cares. As she slowly floats away…..

Like a vapor she slowly begins to fade back into that safe place of refuge! The place where she can be alone with her thoughts! Drifting….drifting…drifting…away to a place that no one can find her! She wants to be saved but no one can hear HER WORDS!

She is silently speaking..listen closely….help her before it is too latedrifting

We are living in a season where people’s WORDS are not being heard. From the victim of child abuse, to the depressed person, to the scared cop, to the hurting child, to the oppressed man, to the abused woman, to the rejected boy, to the scared man….look at their actions they are a reflection of unspoken words!

Eight months in…..

Eight months in…..

“Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don’t resist them; that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.”
― Lao Tzu

Before I knew it the months had just drifted away. At the end of the year and going into a new year your mind is so full of dreams and visions of how you want things to go. Planning and acting goes hand in hand until you realize that one thing out weighed the other and time just seems as it just got away from you. Change is often inevitable and it can throw you for a loop if you let it. Eight months in and I had moments that I felt life I was walking head on into a strong whirlwind.

strong wind

Eight months in….

dreams are still the same

HOWEVER

efforts didn’t line up with dreams

frustration turned into relaxation

motivation left with the time

focus shifted

life changed

people changed

lost love ones

lost friends

lost direction

became discouraged

picked up the fear of failing

THEN

I realized that sitting still changes nothing

Looking back changes nothing

If I wanted something I had to do something different

SO….

I realized…..

That within this eight months I wasn’t the same person because

I forgive more

I love more

I have learned more

I challenged myself more

I made better decision than I have in the previous years

I let things go a lot faster than before

I’m quicker to look pass your mistakes

I’m quicker to ignore imperfections in myself and others

I pray more

I care more

questionable

Although my eight months have been questionable it is not how I started that counts what really matters is how I finish!!!

IN it TO win IT

Stifling creativity…….

Stifling creativity…….

“Clear thinking at the wrong moment can stifle creativity.”

― Karl Lagerfeld

We spend so much of our life trying to prove everything right that we never take the time to prepare to be wrong in order for us to learn from our mistake. It is our moments of not understanding why things are happening the way they are for us to come up with creative solutions to fix the problem.

The problem isn’t that we didn’t know how to fix them it is that we never took the time to think outside of the norm to allow the creativity that is hidden inside to come forth. If you look back over some of the errors that you have made throughout the course of your life you will see how creative you became when it was time to right the wrong.

Your creativity becomes stifled when you wait for someone to help you figure it out. I love to sew and my greatest creations comes from mistakes that I make. I love to see everything just perfect but some times depending on what kind of material I am working with it does not always work out like that. I have crooked lines, and diagonal cuts, button holes too large and sometimes materials that do not mesh well together. It does not make me give up it just causes me to take my oops moments and change them into creative opportunities. They do not always come immediately because my mind is still thinking about the error I made and how can I make it perfectly again.

When my judgement is no longer clear I then have an AH HA moment. The crooked lines are now changed to zig zag decorative lines. The diagonal cuts become high low skirts or dresses. The button holes that were too big are now covered with a decorative flower and a snap is put in the place of the button instead. The fabrics that initially do not look right together now become one of my greatest masterpieces. If I would have never made a mistake I would not have taken the opportunity to figure out how to do something different.

The moral of the story is sometimes it takes making an error and not being able to figure things out at the moment for you to come up with the most creative solution. There is always more than one way to get something done it just takes getting out of self in order to figure it out.ah ha

Our way of life….

Our way of life….

“To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.”
― Ralph Waldo Emerson

Your way is not my way and my way is not your way! I embrace you and you embrace me without thinking I should conform to your way of thinking or doing things. When you look in the mirror embrace your way of life and realize all that comes along with it! Don’t turn your nose up at me! Don’t point your fingers at me! Don’t whisper when I walk by! Don’t laugh at me and I will give you the same courtesy.

Created to be yourself not a duplicate! Looking around you will see so many people who are different shapes, colors, sizes, genders and nationalities. No one is greater than the other so embrace our way of life..

path 2

We all have a path laid out before us. If you veer to the left or right you may end up falling just like I will…so again our way of life belongs to us not others.

Never lower yourself to the level of others by trying to justify who you are….do yourself the greatest favor and accept who you are and those things you don’t like then change them!

Lost

Once clear

Now cloudy

Can’t see

Searching

No direction

Grasping

Hoping

Seeking guidance

Looked within

Soul searching

Adjusted sight

Clear vision

Shifted Focus

Back on track

No longer lost

It only takes a moment to get off track and it seem like eternity to get back on track.  All that is needed is the shifting of your focus and get back to the place that you left off on!!!

FIND THAT GOOD PLACE!!!

Possibilities

Possibilities

“It is the possibility that keeps me going, and though you may call me a dreamer or a fool or any other thing, I believe that anything is possible.”
― Nicholas Sparks

kids

As children we sit and think about all the things would could possibly be when we grow up.

I want to be a police officer NO wait

I want to be a teacher NO wait

I want to be on TV NO wait

I want to be a doctor NO wait

I want to play football NO wait

I want to be a dancer NO wait

I want to be an entertainer NO wait

I want to be a chef NO wait

I want to be an astronaut NO wait

I want to be garbage man NO wait

I want to be a Mom NO wait

I want to be a Dad NO wait……

Like a child there were endless possibilities and no dream was unattainable

AND THEN YOU GROW UP…..

cancelled

And you stop following your dreams

Life happens somehow and you forget how to dream

One thing that most adults are lacking now is the ability to imagine

Somehow along the way your imagination was snatched away from you

Do you see this bag?

This is an imagination bag that allowed you to create whatever your heart desired

barney

Here are a few words from the song that goes along with the bag:

“I’ve been looking in my Barney Bag

And I found lots of things

Gizmos and gadgets, odds and ends and even some old string

So let’s ask ourselves a question what can we make today……”

Moral of the story the power to create is in your hands!!!!

Never ever stop dreaming!

Time to go for it again!

Tapping in…..

Tapping in…..

“For the person with creative potential there is no wholeness except in using it.”
― Robert K. Greenleaf

I was never able to tap into the creative nature inside of me until I learned:

To let people go

To let people grow

To not let everyone’s problems become my problems

To not be everything for everyone

How to forgive

How to live

How to place my needs before others

How to take the time to celebrate me

How to rest my mind

How to rest my body

How to enjoy life

How to smell the roses

How to enjoy each day for what it was

How to go off and enjoy my own company

How to ask for help instead of everyone asking me

How to stop people pleasing

How to cry if I’m hurt

And laugh when I’m happy

How to sit in solace and be content

tattered

It’s time to take the tattered pieces and create something beautiful!

Your life is your canvas pull out your utensils and put them to good use!!!!
